sorry for the n00b question people, but i really wana know what the bung hole on a decat is there for, is just for some type of sensor ?

EGP. Exhaust gas pressure.

So long as you have the male bit to go with the thread. It can be used for anything to analyse or to use exhaust gas info for precise tuning.

some cars from factory have a cat temp sensor, to detect blockages and failure of the catalytic converter function.

it is generally advised to put a wideband sensor between in a more upright position. so often the bung in decat pipes isnt suitable if its on the side.
