i have a feeling it'll be the same dimensions as stock but valved higher to handle springs with higher spring rates

Do you have any idea what the stock spring rate would be I have been told that the pedders springs are 20% stronger then stock so what would that make it?

96-00 EX - 165F/80R (P/P)
99-00 Si (EM1) - 201F/99.8R (P/P)

divide by 56 to get figures in kg
p = progressive springs

Around 3.6kg front 1.7kg rear that's low

Well i have just found out that the skunk2 sports shocks are shorter then the oem's this is as per the website.

I will be purchasing some to see how they are.

will using shorter shocks change ride height?

depends whether the mounting seat is any different

edit; just read the website, looks like it'll be lower either way because of both shortened shock body AND stroke

so say you whack on a stock spring and bolt it down, it'll still be lower
should just give the spring more preload? i guess

i ran skunk2 sport shocks with skunk2 lowering springs for 18 months , they were firmer and are shorter than oem i thought they were great for the price you paywork well for everyday driving and for occasional 'spirited' although i found using a harder spring or the adjsutable sleeve coil worked better with them, im currently now running the skunk2 pro s....

Regular off the shelf 8041-SPORT are OEM replacement, same size. The 8041-RACE is shortened, but I'm not sure you can get them new in Australia. Shock length affects shock travel (inevitably less) and the static shaft position. Ride height is determined by where the spring perch is on the shock. If a shorter shock has a lower spring perch, then you'll be lower, but if you have a height adjustable perch then it's moot.

You should ask them. "Koni Yellows" is a colloquial term not the name of an actual product.

Might just give the skunk2 shocks a go. For the price I don't think u can go wrong. really want a shorter shock that performs better then the kyb excel g's. Does any know a ruff price of the kyb agx's by any chance and are these a short shock again??

The skunk2 shocks have a shorter shock body then stock so that you can get the full shock stroke when lowered 2-2.5 inchs.

^ probably won't find an answer directly from them but chances are the fronts will be stiffer than the rears and will be progressive, spring rates probably aren't spectacular either(probably something like 20% stiffer than stock)

depending on the drop you're after you can look into the usual suspects like spoon, eibach, h&r, etc

i think that the springs are linear, they have a touring series which is progressive but for the price of pedders springs there is better out there, i can get some custom made one's but im not sure if allsprings in moorbank make progressive or not an ye as asked before are progressive rates better then linear? also what would be some good spring rates whats the stock itr rate? would that be good for a civic with skunk2 shocks?

might have to email the skunk guys or even pm them on the forums
no idea what the skunk2 shocks are valved for

stock dc2r springs are 4.4kg front, linear
2.4-4.4kg rear, progressive

mind you stock em1 is something like 3.5kg front, progressive
1.6kg rear, progressive

the more you research into springs the more tricky it gets and to get what you want is fairly difficult when you understand it more actually since you get picky(unless you get custom ones made up)
and even then, it's a gamble as to what springs you want in the end
i've been through about 4-5 setups now, finally settled on something and i'm still tweaking it for street use :)

8kg front 6kg rear would be a good main rate to start tender rate would be 3kg and 2kg since this is a progressive spring rate or would it be better to use something like 4.5 front and 2.5 or 3kg for the rear as a start tender rate?

what does everyone think of Lovell springs compared to pedders, kmac, king springs and H&R springs??

my friend uses skunk2 shocks combined with RSR springs...the ride is quite comfortable and firm but not coilover firm...he got those combination from researching himself and i think he spent less than 1k for those...

personally i'd only rock h&r, eibach or spoon springs
good spring rates, decent drops and you can't fault their quality
