can u change the gear stick in an auto transmitions?

Hey guys i wanted to know if u can change the gear stick in the 2003 auto accord euro.
i unscrewed the two nuts but the leather stuff arround its still comected...
i wana get a beter lookin one coz the stock ones fugly.

should be able too, is there any buttons beside the release button on the gearstick if not you will most probably find some screws somewhere on the gearstick just unscrew them an it should come out

nope cant seem to get it off even after i undo the screws the lether bits holding it in....

if you mean the gear boot, you will have to pull apart the centre console justt undo the screws, could even screw out the gearstick out,

I guess the accord is different

No I think he means the shifter knob itself, you can, not sure how to do it though

But I do know that you need to buy an appropriate replacement shifter to use the button mechanism properly

yer i only want to change the shifter knob. but good point i forgot bout the botton mechanism... any one know where i ca find a smaller gear knob for an auto?

I think it was rein who changed out his auto knob for something better looking in the CL9. search the euro forum for his posts, it'll be there. the knob looked pretty nice (I wasn't settled on the shift boot though)

maybe a new manual gearbox is the next best alternative to mod :)
