hi everyone, i am driving a DC2 vti-R with standard seat, and i wanna buy a recaro SR3 bucket seat. Here's my questions.
Q1. If i bought a SR3 without a seat rail, do i need to buy a new seat rail to install the SR3 in my vti-R or just using the standard seat's rail?
Q2. Is SR3 with EK9 seat rail suitable for my vti-R?
Thanks everyone...=]

A1: Youll need to buy the dc2r rails. Your stock vtir rails do not have the same mounting patterns to suit a recaro.
A2: EK chassis have a different bolt pattern to the dc2. Dc2 share the same bolt pattern as an EG.
So no. EK9 will not fit.

no, you can only use the dc2r rail, or aftermarket rails. no other stock rail will work for you

Correct me if I'm wrong but aint the ITR seats SR3's too? I've got the red ones in my dc2 vtir that was off an ITR... used my stock vtir rails and it was a perfect fit.
I guess I'm assuming that the SR3 seats in question are ITR seats?

Yes, ITR seats are SR3's but the mounting point of the rail of VTi-R is absolutely different. There's no way tat you can fit Vti-R seat rails onto SR3 (Unless you do some modification onto it.
SR3 is available for DC2R and EK9.

I didnt modify the rails one bit. It took my mate and I literally about 30 mins to fit both seats in... very straight forward too. The driver's side was a bit of a bitch because of the steering wheel getting in the way and we did have to use a bit of strength to make it fit for the driver's side but that was about it...

I cant see how you fitted a side mounted rail into a bottom mounted seat.
Unless the seats already had rails on it. Then yes its straight bolt on.
Rails are on the seat. Theyre not apart of the car. Youre telling us you removed your vtir seats, then removed the rails and fitted the rails onto the sr3 recaros then bolted the seat with vtir rails on to the car.
Id like to see pics of it.
