looking at whats been done to it, my guess is that this car was purchased from the auctions and "sex spec'd up", cause no one in their right mind would take an immac S2K and fck it up like that....So this could mean it could be on REVS as a repairable writeoff...

If you really like this car then get your mechanic to go over it, personally I wouldnt pay anything over $20k for a car like that. IMO purely based on the fact its styling is niche and you gota think of when you goto resell such a car.

that s2000 looks crap imo.. the flames just don't cut it.. but i'd be wary.. no log books, 1 key.. the clock could have been wound back as well.

there's a beautiful red one for sale in the marketplace

^^ not my cup of tea.
also at that price, you can find something that is well looked after, has it been on carsales for awhile? if so, that should really tell you why no one wants it..

That car should be driven to the tip and left there.

Yes, red one in marketptlace is also in carsales, clean and stock. Roof and clutch just got changed too.

You guys are so mean lol - He says he's really 'keen on it' so he must like the look...

But yeh I don't like it - Not my thing. Each to their own though. Make sure you get it revs checked and as Fly said, resale might not be very good. As you can see you've got a whole bunch of responses and not a single one likes the looks.

Good luck though!

Hey buddy,

That paintjob is very distinct and unique. Its so unique i actually remember it being towed away on a highway so I'd do some full checks on it before you purchase this car if i was you. Do not want to defame this car incase owner is on OH so pm if you want exact details

I'm pretty sure I've seen it around too - pumping music and thrashing around? A lil' while back though

hahaha some funny comments...yeah the main thing is to get REVS checked, making sure everything is legit and it's not a repairable write-off.

Don't touch it, there will be drama after drama owning that thing. Mechanically and police wise. Assuming it's not written off or canceled rego etc..

This bloke only wants to spend 20K for a clean s2000.

thats a repairable write off for sure.. and if its not it SHOULD BE!!!.. i agree strongly with FLY's comment.. why would you do such a thing.. but anyways i did hear from a anonymous friend of that owner that YES ITS A REPAIRABLE WRITE OFF BOUGHT FROM PICKLES

That dudes been trying to sell that car for at least a year. either that or people keep buying it, finding things wrong with it and then trying to sell it. I have to agree with everybody on here that the styling isnt exactly my taste. Personally, if I was going to go for that over the top done up style s2000 I would much prefer this one. It looks alot cleaner http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1999-HONDA-S2000-SHOW-CAR-P-PLATE-LEGAL-HEADTURNER-/270584858608?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Cars&hash=item3f001d47f0 . Although you have to ask yourself, why would somebody spend that much money on modifications and then still have trouble getting rid of the car. So personally I wouldnt touch this one either. But if I had the option between the 2, just on looks alone Id grab this one for the same price.

But your better off buying something stock, having it well looked over and doing everything yourself. at least you'll have more peace of mind

true but then again i dont get why someone would spend thousands on a fully trimmed interior, kit and huge chromies but then not fork out an extra couple of hundred for the AP2 taillights.

I was wondering the same thing about the tail lights too lol. I actually really like the way the interior looks. Its over the top and the dvd players in the doors are pointless and the car would weigh a ton. But the interior still looks pretty fresh

Is it because your mechanic is not visually impaired?

I was just browsing carsales and came across this. Has anyone seen this car and know the history about it ? Also the seat has red trimmings. Did Honda ever sold them like that ? Also the DVD player in the middle means they have cut the dash ?

Thanks again.

Ferrari

Yes the dash has been cut and a jdm bezel fitted. The red accents are not factory either.
