In an auto there is a dipstick. Cant remember but its either towards the front of the engine bay on the gearbox side or towards the rear of the engine bay.

In a manual, there is a filler plug just above the drivers side driveshaft. Stick your finger in there and you should feel the level.

Oil fiter is on the rear side of the engine bay. Have to lift the car up on stands or a hoist. It is above the midshaft. Recommend not to do an oil change on stands if the car is hot. Well. if the exhaust is hot.

Most manual gearboxes dont have a dipstick. Its the filler hole that tells you your level.

if u want to check the fluid remove the large round bolt (can be seen in the pic 2 posts above) above the drain bolt with a 3/8 ratchet or breaker bar

ta, i got everything ready but when i tried to loosen the filler bolt it was way too tight is there another way 2 loosen it besides a 17mm spanner

socket, breaker bar, and a pipe on top of the breaker bar for more leverage, make sure the socket in on firm as the last thing you want to do is strip it.

Try a longer spanner.
Or connect 2 spanners together. 17mm with a 18-19mm on the open ended side to give more leverage. Theyd always be tight. Other wise it'd leak =/
