an EG is 92-95 not 91...thats the ED...but shouldnt be a problem i wouldnt think

EDIT: i dont know why you wouldnt just go for the SI D16a8 though :)

nahmy breeze is a EG3 1991. late novemeber 91.would it fit in just as easy as i where to replace the engine so to speak. in and out. same mounts not mods needed.

Cheers

im pretty sure the mounts are all the same for eg cept for the B16a mounts

so it would just slip in, even though im changing form single carb to dual carb?

the fact that you are changing the displacement more than 15% over your factory specs for the breeze will be your only hurdle...which means engineers certificate.

but other than that you shouldnt have any major problems i think

how much am i looking at for an engineering certifcate?

Roughly $500 but you might get away with no certificate at some mechanic shops that give blue slips. (thats in Sydney anyway, not sure where your from.)

mytoycivic

wrong, it is illegal to do that as you need a certificate as you are increasing the displacement with your new engine more than 15%. therefore a simple blue slip is not enough in this case...

plz vouch

so about 500 dollars for a certificate????

Not to mention an increase in insurance costs due to fitting a new engine into your car. When I asked AAMI, I was paying ~$700 a year on my 1.3, and they said I'd pay ~$2200 on a 1.6. I don't really think it's worth it in the end... You're better off buying a 1.6 to start off with.

yeah i get ya, i recon ill just stay with the D13 for now, might upgrade it to dual carb but thanks for the tips. might look at a civic si or integra down the track. Cheers

I think the best option for you, and for me really, is to remove the single carb and either weber it or dual carb the d13. With some good breathing mods, the engine should run a lot better and will give most other Civics a good run. From my own experiences with my car, the 1.3 can suprise a few people.

should just leave the car stock. no point modding the engine. u wont get anywhere.
its a perfect car to get from a to b with a 5ltr per 5million ks fuel consumption, not a racer.

Carbs aren't as bad as you all think :p

And I meant best option if you want to do anything. I'm not planning on doing anything as I'll be selling my car in about 2 years anyway, regardless of what it is; I'm going overseas.

well i just want to experiment a little with my breeze really. im not after super fast racing car, i dont think upgrading maybe to a dual carb with some open breathing mods could do any less to my hp.

aw far out........ turbonator.

good luck on whatever you're gonna do =o)

using it as a daily drive would be great, rather than doing all those mods. it's still going to be a 1.3. simple mods for breathing would be good, least you get slightly more back.

man go through just car insurance, they are cheap. Most places like AAmi hate modifications

Enigma

nah the breeze 1.3L contains a single carby but the next generation breeze which is the 1.4 have a dual. i want to put a dual on the 1.3 give it some high rev power maybe with the extra fuel and easy breathing.

yeh i have heard this too. they take the rev limiter off them and rev them to like 11 grand! only last about 3 races though but are freekin quick :D i wonder how many engines they have gone through.!!!

heh. as long as you don't mind doing a bit of engine swapping they're just about cheap enough to be disposable. ;)

why not! race it twice and sell it after that. beat me a skyline or 2. sounds good to me.
