Hi, my current one no longer works. I took it to an automotive electrician, he just had a look and said that I would have to get Honda to replace it and that they're normally pretty expensive (could be over $100)... But i'm sick of having to practically key my car at night, just to open the door, so i'm thinking of buying a remote off eBay. Few questions though:
1. Is it a risk buying a keyless remote (for a '02 civic) when I can only find ones on the net from another country or are they universal?
2. Does anybody know about programming it with the car? I've had a quick look on the net and found a lot of easy instructions like: http://www.ehow.com/how_4470692_program-honda-keyless-entry-remote.html - but it also seems too easy to be true. Then I came across this http://www.handa-accessories.com/civic/civickeyless01.pdf .. Would the former work?
