Solution for loud exhaust and low RPM power.

At the moment I feel the need for a much quieter exhaust, I always come home late so I want something really quiet and I dont have a lot of $$$ to spend. Another issue is that i feel its rather sluggish in the low RPM range.

I bought it as is with D16Y1 to a 2.5" piping to a 3.5" Tip. I was thinking of finding a stock EG5 exhaust system and putting it on, or just getting a different muffler(still 2.5" but maybe smaller tip)

Which do you guys recommend? Also anyone selling a stock EG5 exhaust?

As said 2.5" is major overkill and is most likely to be blamed for your sluggish performance in low revs. Define 'low revs' ?
I would definatly opt for getting a stock exhaust or a 2inch or 2.25 inch catback with a nice muffler on the end.

By low revs i mean basically from 1-3k rpm, It climbs up to 3k fine but theres barely any power and I need to change at 4k RPM for decent/normal power.

i have one on my eg, its nice and quiet and sounds clean :)

You definatly have some power loss then by the sounds of it, the exhaust may not be the sole problem but it sure as hell won't help. Get it fixed up and you should feel the power difference

Large exhaust diameter does affect the feel of power loss because I had a 3 inch straight pipe on my b16a before and pretty much I had to wait for vtec to hit.... more like turbo lag if u know what i mean.
So what I'm saying is I waited from about 4000rpm to vtec, which too a good 3 seconds in 3rd.... but now with the stock exhaust back on its picking up faster than with the 3" exhaust.

I bought a silencer for it, but its doesnt make it quiet enough and it sounds really really bad lol. Im gonna have to source a EG5 exhaust as I dont have much money atm to replace a new muffler. But yes Kera mine does feel laggy too before vtec hits, soo sluggish :(
