advantage to replace the thinner head gasket?

hi~ rencently my head gasket is almost gone, is time to replace the new one~i heard on the net that the thinner the gasket, more compression we have and it gain more HP~same as shave the cyc head,so it is advantage to replace the thinner head gasket ,

any disadvantage?
