hi guys i currently have 17x7 5zigen wheels on my ek4.
i want to go back to 15x7 or 16x7.
i have tryed putting on 7 different sets now all with different off set,
they all seem to hit my brake calliper cause the previous owner upgraded them to some massive 4pot brakes.

dont really want to change the brakes but if i have to i will

Is it hitting the spokes or the rim itself? If it hits the spokes, then you need a lower offset rim. If it hits the rim, then you need larger rims.

That depends on how large the 4 pots + rotors are - if the rotors are under 290~300mm, there's a chance you can run them under 15 inch rims (you will probably need to run spacers or have different offset rims)

If the rotors are > 300mm, you probably have no chance of running 15" rims.

most kits above 280 need 16" wheels, ksports seem to anyway if you use their 12" rotors but the 11" rotors can be run with 15" wheels

I used to run 286mm rotors under 15" rims (6 piston) - with the Works Emotion - don't need spacers, but with some other rims - need to use spacers..up to 10mm.

yep the 11" rotors fit fine, just 12" need 16s

in his case, wouldnt spacers just be a easy fix? yes/no?

depends on his rotor size

If it's hitting the rim and not the spokes, then the size of the wheel needs to increase, not the offset (which is what a spacer will do)

wut 4pot brakes u got?
4x100 or 5x114.3?and wut offset wheel u got?(i guess 4x100)
i got spoon monoblock brake caliper on my dc2r with 300mm rotor and i use got CE28N TA it just clear caliper not much space left
i think all depend design wheel and wut offset/size wheel u got

What size are your CE28N TA?

4x100 isn't an offset, it's the cars PCD.

atm it got 300mm disk diameter and my current rims are 5zigen 17in with a 43 offset and that just clears the brake calliper.

ive tryed on the ce28 and they still hit the side of the callipers.
starting to get really annoyed with the bumpy ride

Just get a couple of spacers - just measure how much you need - usually 10mm should be enough.
Don't use those generic spacers either, get specific machined ones so they centre on the hubs and the wheel correctly - should be around $150
Also, with using spacer's you might need extended wheel studs.

as above, can give wheelworx (http://wheelworx.com.au/) a call to see if they can supply you with some bolt on hubcentric spacers(eliminates the need to have extended studs)
otherwise look into h&r spacers, specifically the drs system as i believe they come with extended studs(mine did anyway)

You drive it like that? wtf.

bumpy ride can be from many things. damper rate? tyre pressure?

can't believe you said you would get rid of the brakes. i'm heart broken. i'm killing for bigger brakes. i'm rolling stock 242's no worries under my 15" rotas. brake + wheel swap plz? i'll chuck in new slotted rotors
