Very noob question on ECU

So for an ecu reflash they tune a stock ecu then put it back in, but does the ecu reset to stock if the battery is disconected?

nah they usually change a little proccesor chip that allows reflashing, so they take your old one out and replace with this one, then they can reflash this as many times as they want.

unless the k24 ecu already has a flashable ecu, some may and some may not, not many cars do.

i know in japan they have taken this to a new level and once they have a chip installed, the owner of the car actually does flash dumps to his pc, with the assistance of a wideband 02 sensor and data logging, they are tunning there own cars. they have a large network supporting the nissan r32 skyline. people worked out the good and the bad points by copy company tuned roms like mines or hks, and just upgrading them.

no it will not reset.

however i know on ford xr6 turbos the ecu is constantly reseting any power chips put in there lol.
