Wheel suggestions

Hey guys,

as it stands my factory wheels were stolen from my DC5S and insurance have given me the option to choose whatever wheels I want up to the value of replacement for factory ones which is roughly $4.2k incl nuts and centre caps. Add another $1200 for tyres. I decided against getting factory because I can't justify such a waste of money.

I'm going to Wheel Revolution tomorrow in Slacks Creek (South Brisbane) for a look at what they can get me. Does anyone have any other ideas / places I can check out?

I've never even considered wheels that expensive before and I don't really know what's available but I know there are some nice looking Rays wheels. My car is also red so I thought a darker coloured rim would look nice.

WHUT? your oem wheels are valued at 4.2k? and then another 1.2k for tires?

be happy and buy forged japanese wheels like rays because many ppl are after them. esp. hondas.
dont buy vip wheels, will be hard to resell. my opinion.

makes sense, dc2r wheels brand new from honda are $900 each.

got a quote for RE30's...... $4200 for 17x8
...... $4550 for 18x8

and CE28's...... $4300 for 17x8
...... $4550 for 18x8

Otherwise I could go for something cheaper as Vtecing suggested like Work XD9's or something... I could go 18" for sure that way...

i think theres a few people on this site who wish they were in ur shoes right now haha. IMO dnt spend all that cash on wheels, theres plenty of good wheels u can get for around 2 grand. Work Emotion CR-Kai are real nice and arent overly expensive. Doesnt get much better than RE-30's tho... love em!

nah i don't get to keep the change that's for sure haha. and i'm just trying to make the best of a bad situation since it has cost me a whole day's pay plus excess plus no car for however long? !

oh ok fair enough... well personally I'd swap my weeks pay + stock rims for somethin like te re30's n wouldn't think twice. good luck with ur decision, it's a tough one.

set of re30's on the way :) and i was happy with the s-drive yoko's so i'm going to get those too but i'll have to fork out a 50% contribution due to the wear on the old ones, which i think is fair enough. next on the list is a set of lock nuts.......
