Boot and Boot release on a DC2R

Hey people.

Lately I have been using the boot a lot and have noticed that when I pull the boot release thingy the boot doesnt pop open anymore, similarly when I use the key it doesnt pop open I need to pull on it.
It only just started doing that, could it be that the struts need more gas or is it something else as it always used to pop open.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I can tell you that this is very common. I've owned two Integras and they both did this. So does my mates. Good luck though! It doesn't bother me but it would be interesting to see if there is a fix!

Its not the struts. Open the boot, spray some lubricant on/around the lock mechanisim. You may find this will help.

Sprayed RP-7 on it and it worked fine.
Boot pops open again. so Cheers Deano..

I followed his advice too and it worked. When I got mine I noticed that same thing but did not worry about it that much thought it was normal. anyways ty Deano

hmmmm im going to giv this a go... but i might actually use sticky grease... like motorbike chain lube, should hang around there a bit longer, whilst WD40 would dilute the grease in there
