15w is too thick for cold. I reckon Mobil 2000 5w-40 for $35 is a good cheap oil. If you can go more expensive, then look at Elf Excellium 5w-40.

How much is the elf excellium aaron?

I'm still using motul 5w-40 8100 x-cess full synthetic.

Just thinking of trying something different.

I will be putting the stage 1 cam in soon, should I be looking at a different viscosity after I do?

Cheers mate.

Elf is about $70 from Autobarn. Should be the same or slightly cheaper than Motul 8100 (Motul keeps changing their prices)
For the head, the viscosity should be within the stock recommendations (0w-30 up to 10w-40). You shouldn't have problems. People tend to have more problems with a worked bottom end if it requires thicker oil like 10w-50 or 10w-60 because of the forged pistons and as a result can end up with an oil too thick for the head, causing wear on the cam lobes.

I use Castrol Magnatec 10w-40 goes fine. About $30-37 for 5L.

Or Nulon synthetic stuff.

I use Nulon "full synthetic" 10w40 every 5k (177,000 on the clock and well maintained B16a). Nothing wrong with FEO though.

As said before, 15W40 is too thick for your application.

10w40 is too thin...i run out of engine oil really fast...and the cars done almost 190k kms.

No it is not, just because your engine is 'running out of oil' doesn't mean you should throw thicker oil at it.

If you're losing oil really fast then you have a much larger problem than what oil to use.

Replace the PCV valve first.

how much is it?

Should be cheap. It is not a special part. Just a one way valve with a spring in it.

Only $20 from Honda,it's on the other end of that hose that goes down through ya intake manifold. It connects to the block.Get ya arm around the Intake manifold and pull it out,if it's too tricky,U will need to get under the car.

Its a 1 way valve,U can just clean it out and put it back but its probably never been changed in your car so change it.

U can break them when removing them...

Thanks heaps again Aaron!
