hey guys, looking at a DC5R, came across this example but something doesnt seems right.

1. doesnt have the Type-R wing. i dont think the wing is an optional extra with DC5Rs yeah?
2. it has a sunroof. well if its aftermarket / dealer option then its fine i suppose.
3. it sits awefully high for a Type-R ?
Checked with Vicroads and its not written off.
VIN/Chassis Number: JHMDC53902C201948
Engine Number: K20A21417700
K20A2 = Type-R engine.
but how about the VIN ? is there a specific VIN number combination for DC5R?
are there any other things to look out that are Type-R specific?
oh and 1 more thing, does DC5R has alarm from factory? do they have wireless entry?

you got yourself a Type R there.
Features of a type R no particular order
momo steering wheel
recaro seats
k20a2 engine (k20a JDM)
6 speed manual (only type r) with aluminum gear shift knob
Brembo brakes are JDM only unfortunately
The VIN number should read
JHM = country maker
DC5 = model
3 = type r, dont ask me how they came up with the numbering system, possibly because the type r was the 3rd version of the dc5 to come out.
9 = i think is bodytype and transmission or something, I remember faintly something important with this.
But the 3 is what your after, since I went through this whole process when buying my DC5R. I'll try and find that VIN information if I can remember where...
But yes for DC5R that one does look weird without a rear wing and sunroof, but I have seen those examples in my search too.
DC5R have an immoboliser not alarm from factory and yes to keyless entry
Hope that helps

If you want to be sure why dont you give Honda a call to check if the VIN and Engine number match.

yes you can just call up honda no authentication required. the engine number is under the throttle body section. the vin is found near the air box (not 100% sure)

That ride height is also normal for a AUDM DC5R.

thats cool... but shouldn't the last 3 digits of the VIN match the last 3 digits of the engine number? This may not be the original engine for this car
