Apparently it is a common problem in the Honda MDX, the rear A/C blower stops working. Ours did not work for almost 2 years, until recently.

The MDX has a rear blower transistor unit that is located under the auto gear lever, passenger side. These units fail, the rear a/c unit then no longer works. A local Honda dealer here in Brisbane quoted me $300 for a new transistor unit. After doing a search on a US Acura site, I found the unit could be repaired by replacing the blown thermal fuse.

I bought 10 of these fuses. So if any other MDX owners have the same problem, call out and I can provide you one.

I understand the fuse blows because the rear blower air inlet becomes clogged up with dust. When I checked mine, the dust was that thick, it came off in one large layer, just like cleaning the lint filter in a clothes dryer. I'd recommend cleaning the screen ever 12 months. It's located in front of the transistor module.
