Congrats, hope you love your Euro as much as I do, (and my fiance!). Seriously, you have one fine car there, and don't worry I don't have the Luxury either, you don't really need it unless you love leather seats or the woodgrain interior which I didn't so much! You arn't missing out on much else and the extra dollars you save can be put towards fog lamps etc. Don't stress about the 2005 model thing either, from what I have read there isn't that many changes going on to the standard Euro other than them replacing the space saver tyre for a full sized model, no biggie!
You will get lots of compliments on your Euro, I sure as hell do... even at the car wash... took it yesterday to get cleaned at one of those manual car wash places, there were these guys just sittin there gawking then one of them said 'Nice ride man', keep in mind my Euro is stock other than the Ming Tints and Spoiler, guess Honda picked a winner with this model :)

Congrats. How did you manage to get leather on standard Euro and how much did they charge you for it? Well done on getting the leather. IMO leather makes the Euro HEAPS more classy.
Personally, it would have been better if you could manage to stretch your budget for the luxury version but mechanically they are the same so they'll drive the same. However, you can't go back to halogen lights once you try out the HID lights on the luxury version.

Thanks alot guys!
I am sure I will have hours and hours of sheer driving pleasure!.
I almost made a deal on a 05 Euro Lux but they gave me a fantastic offer on the 04 standard euro which I could not refuse.
There was around a 7.5K saving between the 2. Most of all I wanted leather which I got them to add in! they will use a local upholstery company and will get ivory leather fitted.
It is a small shame no HID or sunroof but next Honda for sure!
PS There was a 05 lux on display and the only major dif is the 17" wheels from what I saw the ride hight has not changed at all.

I got a quote from my dealer at just over 500 bucks, that is for the lights plus installation, the installation takes about 3 hours because they have to run the wiring through! That is my next purchase, after that I am looking at larger rims.
BTW everyone here seems to think that leather is a fantastic feature in the Euro, I happen to disagree... I don't know what it is about leather seats but to me it just doesn't feel the same I am not sure why but I actually prefer the standard black cloth seats! To me they look just as sporty and are warmer on the rump ;) Each to their own I guess...

The cloth seats are a pain to keep clean. I vacuum once a week, but it is turning gray in colour due to the dust buildup. I am going to go at it with a lint-remover next!

REV888, what sort of deal did they give you for the '05 Euro Luxury?
$500 for foglights? Hmm.. that sounds quite pricey. I can't remember exactly how much it was but when I bought my car, I remember seeing it on the accessories list for something like $250.

Nice colour choice
Just some words of advice.
1) If the car came with oem mats, go buy urself another set, all-weather mats would be wise.
2) Try not to wash your car for a while, because after the first wash (your car being black) you wont know whether to feel proud that ur car is clean, or frustrated as you see the swirl marks.
Enjoy it dude, but be careful . Double D is around the corner

Congrats on ur new car... As everybody that knows about the euro's and or owns them, can tell it is a bloody good car...
U made a good decision getting one...
Leather is so much easier to keep clean then cloth hope u do get it... or u already have it on ur new euro.
Dark tint is real good.. I had it until i had a accident with the dark tint at night time not able to see cars on the side... Dark tint is really the only way to go with the hotter months but one day the cops will catch up and put a defect sticker on the car if it has real dark tint...
If anybody is interested i could sell my Euro Fog lights... I have no need for them now.. its sitting in a box in the garage...
Enjoy ur new car moite...

The foglamps don't cost $500, that is the TOTALL cost which includes parts and installation, labour isn't that cheap and like I said will take around 3 hours to install. The lamps themselves cost around $295.

The black cloth is pretty nice, you do get some lint and hair on it but it is pretty easily removed with a decent vaccum cleaner :) I vaccum the upholstery once every couple of weeks, no biggy!
Why did you remove your fog lamps? How much would you sell them for do you think?

I'm just wondering how you got leather seats on standard euro?
Are they going to take care of the side airbag issues?
I heard from my dealer that many dodgy dealers are offering leather seats as a dealer-fitted option, even though it'll interfere with the operation of side airbags.
Anyhow, you'll enjoy the leather seats. One of the biggest gripes I have with cloth seats is that they tend to get smelly as your car ages. Unless you get it professionally steam cleaned, it'll smell bad and you can't help it because there will be occasions when you get in your car sweating like a pig. They get absorbed and starts smelling really bad eventually. Also, leather seats tend to cool down a lot quicker than cloth seats too.
What do you guys do with your feet while you drive?
My car's now 2 months old, but I don't really notice any sign of wear on the floor mat.

$500 does sound right. Not only do you have to pay for the foglights, but you have to pay for an indicator/light switch to turn on your foglights. Yes $250 is just for the fog lights alone.

It was suppose to be done by the dealership but got a call from Honda saying they wont do it. As for Airbag the leather people who will fit it, assure me with a certificate that if in accident the airbag will deploy ok.
They have done tests already and comply with all standards.
Why have there been issues in the past ?

Its great you got the upholstery company to comply the leather on the seats, that was something i wanted to do but was urged against by the dealers, I must admit that i have now gotten very used to the cloth seats as well and find them very comfortable, maybe if the fade happens in a coule of years get them re upholstered !!

Black cloth is alright....but ivory cloth is bad. A little bit of stain on that and it's bye bye to your seats. Glad that your std black Euro will be retrimmed with leather.
If you have the money, get aftermarket HID's. It's really good, and after using them, you can't go back to halogen again. It's not just a cosmetic thing, it actually benefits the user.

Nah, thats when the recaro's go in!!! :)
Seriously, nothing wrong with the cloth seats. It is the single reason that I got the base over the lux. My girl just cleans them with the lint remover once every so often.
Leather no good up here.... we are in to the 45 deg plus days again. :(

We actually have a special anti-cat hair vacuum cleaner, it wasn't cheap but has 1800W's of suction, cleans up the seats really nice :)

I tried to get the luxury HID headlights when I got my Euro, there was no friggin way I could get them to do it. :(
Aftermarket kit from USA is the way to go. From what I have read, ones with Philips or Hella ballasts are the way to go. You could try Honda spare parts, but since they charge about $7k for one S2000 seat, I think you would have a heart attack if they actually had them.

I will give honda spare parts a try if not will consdier aftermarket.
The last car I had I modded it almost to the max , but promised myself this time round no mods. At the end of the day you dont get the money back, all you get back is your own personal satisfaction.

Very true. There's no point in installing aftermarket HID light as it'll be like throwing your money down the drain. Personal satisfaction will not last that long either.

I think Aftermarket HID is worth it if u pay about $1000-$1500 for it...
Once u have HID u can't go back to normal Holagen lights.. Driving at night with HID is definetly worth it and the blue/white/purple tinge is a definite bonus. It is so much clearer with HID lights..
U can get aftermarket HID's for $800 installed....
Honda Euro HID lights costs $550 each.. so a pair is $1100 from honda parts... (Thats for the whole cluster of lights)...
did you get manual or auto? If auto than tell us what you think about it and vice versa..

You can get most HID kits on the net for around US$400 - US$500.
I am going to try OSRAM silverstar +50's. Cheap and effective by a few people's accounts. They just don't have them here where I live.

Once i got the bill it showed that the lights costed $550 each...
Maybe i got it cheaper because due to the accident i had to get $6000 worth of replacement parts...
Thats from the smash repair shop going to honda and getting a quote and not u urself going to honda parts and asking for it.... I got 2 quotes from two different smash repair shops and both stated $550 for each cluster of lights (Thats parts only guys ok)...

They always do that. So it was delayed for like 1 week and you didn't do anything?!
The dealer I bought my car from tried the same thing and showed them that I was very pissed off that it was going to be delayed for more than a week. Also, I reminded them that I made them guarantee the delivery date on the contract.
Miraculously, they called Honda Australia and managed to get the car within 2 days rather than more than 1 week later. It's all about showing who's the boss.

Does not effect Airbag deployment whats so ever. The trim just goes over the side airbag as if the car had leather trim to start off with.

Me and cars Im so sensative and always pick up on the slightest of things.
As soon as I got in the car I new the tyre pressure was to much.
Went to Bob Jane as soon as I picked up the car and got some nitrogen in them :D :D .
Factory PSI pressure was a crazy 49 but all fixed now at a nice 36PSI and running nitrogen in them.

Damn right changing the trims WILL effect side air bags! Not to mention the fire rating and compliance issues. Don't believe all ur told by the aftermarket guys who want their slice of your $$$$. If you aint been caught by accessories that are supposed to do this or that but don't live up to it then you certainly don't want to stake ur life on it by gambling with ur airbags.
For my money if you take their word for it or ya even fit seat covers then you deserve everything you get for being gullible!
And if ur that silly send me ur bank account details as I'll be happy to lighten ur balance for you and make all sorts of promises for nothing.
