Hey guys,
There's a few things i am currently curious about.
If a car has done a lot of kilometers, say over 200,000
is it a good idea to change the engine completely? or just getting a service done be efficient for the current engine to survive?
Thanks in advanced

Do a leak-down test to ensure the cylinders are not losing compression.
Otherwise, a major service will be sufficient. If an engine is well maintained, that means serviced every 5,000-10,000KMs then there's no reason why it can't do over 300,000-400,000.

^ as above, the serviuce life of an engine comes down to how well it is maintained.

ah okay, but I've been told by a mate that if the engine compression is low
a engine recondition would fix that problem?
i didn't really understand what that actually meant though..
could i bother anyone once again just to get a little heads up?

does he mean rebuild the engine? that will do too. But just service regularly and the engine will probably last more than 300000-400000ks no problem
