Hi all,
My hand brake light is stuck on... When the hand brake is down (free) the lights on and when its up (locked) its still on....

I have had a look at the switch just next to the hand brake and it seems fine. Anyone know whats the go?

Cheers,
Jono

that light is the handbrake light and also the low brake fluid warning light. id dare say your brake fluid is low.
This can be because the fluid drops slightly as the pistons in the brake calipers move out as the pads wear, or you have a leak somewhere.
If its low, top it up to the max mark with any dot 4 brake fluid and the light should go out. Then check if theres a leak, most likely one in Honda is the brake master cylinder (cylinder underneath the resorvoir that holds the brake fluid), you will see dampness or the paint peeling off under the master cylinder on the brake booster (big black thing the master cylinder is attached to). Other then that it could be a small leak from a brake line or one of the calipers, but generally if these are leaking air will be pulled into the braking system and the brakes will feel spongy. if your not confident with checking the brake system for leaks then get a mechanic to look at it.

If topping up the brake fluid doesnt make the light go out then yes it may be to do with the handbrake, but thats just a simple switch, not common for it to fail
