hey guys when you take your front wheels off and look towards the engine bay there are two rubber boots the seem to come off th econtrol arms, what are they called? anyon eknow there function? they seem to just seal the joins... i dunno...

they are midway down the driveshafts yeah ? They both can come off quite easily - and are there to hold in 3 x bearings + grease for the driveshafts. DONT pull them out.

they are your steering arm boots. They keep the joints lubes as they usally have some litium grease. They stop the grease on and the joints from being exposed so they don't rust and stuff. Whatever you do don't break them cos its a pain to replace. The ones coming from the gearbox is the CV boots, inner and outter.

ok thanks cause i cracked the rubber in them and need to replace them....

are tehy spitting black/greay grease everywhere and are about as big a a big fist???

driveshafts as Ben said...

new boot kits are about 80 a side, but best to repalce the whole d/s as teh reconditioned ones are about 220 exchange a set...
