No unfortunately the AUDM does not come with a lightened flywheel, only the jdm spec does. If you change the flywheel to a lighter one you notice a significant gain in power delivery through the drivetrain. I have a fn2r flywheel which is much lighter, weights 4.8kg. pm me if interested

As above, no. AUDM item is ~9kg.

The Toda item is 3.8KG, and there is a very noticeable gain when changing to this.

Just note that removing the gearbox (And then reinstalling) from a DC5 is an all day job (8 hours). So if you are going to replace the flywheel also look into changing your clutch, and maybe even your final drive.

Also. Re-learn to drive with a light weight flywheel. Guranteed youll have a hard time shifting comfortably.
And on a dc5r with stock mounts. Watch your engine mount.

does lighten flywheel make it harder to shift or something? does that mean more crunch?

Not harder to shift. Harder to shift comfortably. And no, it doesnt mean you crunch more.

The purpose of a flywheel is to provide a form off inertial energy to keep the engine spinning even though its on injection cut off. ie. Making no power, no combustion. (backing off or between gear shifts)
Without a flywheel, everytime it goes from load to no load it will most probably stall.
A 3.8kg flywheel will be close to that. Though it wont stall. It wont make a rough idle or rough ride. Its just the revs will drop heaps quicker between gear shifts.

For instance. Say youre a slow shifter. Itll probably be like shifting from idle on every gear.

It is still a good mod though. A very effective mod in any engine n/a or forced inducted.

All im saying is, before choosing what flywheel youre going to put in a car, ask around and go for a drive in a same car with a very light flywheel.
I only say that because if youre car is a daily, itll take some time to get used to, and even then, some people find it abit annoying.

If its your toy then ill say get it.

Just get it when ur clutch. Theres other things to spend the money on for now that will yield more
notoliceable gains.

Has anyone got the set up of exedy sports organic clutch n exedy lighten flywheel 3.8kg? Curious to know how it is for everyday drive? Or should I look for a different flywheel?

Thanks.

Just a question about the light weight flywheel. If it improves drive train delivery, that means it improves acceleration? Over a 1/4 mile what would that represent?
