hey all

i just recently put in HYTECH tri-y replicas and XFORCE hi flow cat 2.5''
and running a 5zigen catback in an EK4

ever since i put in the headers and hi flow it seems sluggish and the pull from VTEC feels weak and i dont feel it at all compared to that when i had stock cat and headers

would anyone know the problem?

maybe the new gear has smoothened out the transaction giving the illusion that it's weaker?

i had the same problem, correct me if im wrong, but i was told that because your piping and all is bigger, the air is less restricted therefor traveling smoother through your car and resulting in a less aggressive and quieter vtec crossover.. not sure how truee this is though, id like to see what others have to say..

Have you tried clearing the fuel trim memory by pulling the ECU fuse?

In the fuse box. Check, there should be one in the engine bay and another under the dash. Check the manual and it will tell you where and which fuse is the one to pull.

i took out the ecu fuse and put it back in like 5 mins later, not that it makes any difference
but now it drives fine like it was before

thanks for the help!

Smoother breathing. Less pronounced VTEC means you have a smoother torque curve, so you have less of a power 'boost' when VTEC engages but you'll have better power throughout the rev-range (which is better for daily driving).

it sounded weird and also when vtec engaged it felt like the car hasnt warmed up yet

but now its all good
