If you are planing on rebuilding an engine (cams, valve train, pistions, rods, rings .ect) the whole lot does it matter which variation of the B18 series you get?
Basically will I get the same preformance if I pick up a cheap B18C2 and rebuilt it as if I got a B18C5 and rebuilt it?
And if you are doing a full rebuild which is the cheapest long block?
