True - in the fact that the 4th Gen VTiR had slightly shorter gear ratios, and weighs slightly less than the 5G counterpart. However, the 5G makes up in weight with it's addded rigdity and stability around corners, superior to 4G.

the 5th gen has a few more than the 4th gen.

4th gen VTIR = 190HP, 5th gen vtir = 200hp. So the 5th gen has a few more kw.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaay heavier, but the torque differnce makes up for it. I chopped a 4th gen on the way home up alfords point road.. i suspect the driver of the 4thgen was helping by driving an auto, but I might be wrong

I can confirm that they aren't!
there are a few JDM gen 4-vtir's that are going around..and one i know of is definitely auto...so yeah..but you can tell that they are jdm from the jdm front lights (one piece) and a rear wiper usually.

Preludes are the only honda VTiR model variant that have an auto. Mostly due to the price of one new, they had to offer an auto for a car that wasn't a serious sportscar (like a Type R/S2000)

before i started mods on my 4th gen, a mate of mine had a 5th gen and both stock, both vti-r, we both done our testing, we both switched cars and raced and to cut a long story short.....

my 4th gen always got the better of the 5th gen.

another thing i found out is that both have the same engine BUT, why does my h22a have 345cc injectors and the 5th gen h22a 280cc??

i think it has to do with the gearing as well!
