Went to honda to buy some sparkplugs for my wifes jazz, and the guy asked me how many kays were on the car, i told him 60K, and he said nah mate, you dont need 'em, we only change the plugs when they hit 100K....

Is this for real?!?!

ps: I found this a little odd considering that I pretty much change the plugs on my other hondas around 6-12 months.

old honda uses normal copper plug which should last up to 40k km.
your jazz plugs maybe be a iridium or platinum tip which will last up to 100k km.

and there are no copper plugs to fit the vti's, (well there wasn't last time i checked)

you want to change them every 100K, as they, and i'm pretty sure they are NKG iridiums, are like over $100 a set

VTI-S models come with iridiums standard hence why 100 000kms

Iridium on Jazz VTI?

I think my mechanic just replaced normal spark plugs on my 100K service :(

i just replaced the plugs on my mum's jazz... went from NGK Iridium (standard) to Denso Iridium cost <$100 for the set, and labor was free cos i did it ;)

the car has only done 60,000km but it needed them replaced (60,000km was done over the last 4 years) as they'd worn down quite a bit and were causing a very slight miss under load at low revs
