dunno if this is a bargain or not, but seems to be so.. as the body is straight and drives well considering its age. My only main concern is that its carburated. Is there any much room for modding these model of civics? Any info on the 1.5litre breeze would be helpful as not alot of people know about em. Most breezes are 1.3l.

Um also for some reason these model did not come with air-conditioning or power windows.

Another thing is that it has 490,000ks + on the clock but thats mostly highway kms as the dude i bought it off lives in wollongong and travelled to sydney everyday.

Other than that its pretty good. Love the fuel milage.. and the gearbox which was reco'd 12 months ago.

What i wanna do first is get it fully serviced before i do any modding on the engine. Anyone know a good honda specialist near paramatta?
Cheers

edit: forgot to say that black thing on the fender that looks like a scratch is just bird poop :) havnt have time to wash her properly.

i was like wtf!! when it u said u bought it for 3k, but then i found out it did 490000ks lol.
strange that ur car didnt have aircon. mine was a 1,3l engine and it HAD aircon =]
as for moding, dont do anything to the car. dont do a service dont do anything to it. save ur money. drive it till it dies then change to an EFI engine. best tihng u can give ur baby.

btw: looks good except for that front right fender. hehe

looks good for $3k. Wierd that it dosn't have aircon. You sure it's just not working? It wouldn't have power windows. With that sort of mileage I would think you're going to have to save your money for possible repairs rather than modding.

$3k for the car + $3 or $4k for engine swap = $7k. which is about what you'd pay for the same car in really good condition with low k's.

edit: Looked at pictures again. realised you're missing all the air con setup. wierd.

good find mate! Even tho they highway k's, don't forget on the freeway it would be constantly revving at around 3k, so it would be quite worn imo
looks like a nice example to do a engine conversion along with some other things while ur at it eg, clutch, header etc.

a k20a in a eg6 = monster hunter!

but, saying that this car has 490,000+ kms on it, although that is a lot, it shows that this car has not had a hard life and has not been thrashed.

i have only seen that mileage on taxis and trucks before. it seems impossible to have that on a breeze! shows the mighty strength of the :honda: engines. :D

nice find anyway timmya2, the body is in great condition and is a great host to a new engine setup. look at all your options though, you dont have to go b16a or k20!

There empty space next to the radiator... where aircon usually goes.
I thought Aircon was an OPTION for all civic, u could even get a VTI without it.

By the way, how much is a B16, from where, how many K's?
Where do u get it done, what else u need?
How hard is it to put into an EG???

wtf is this 3k budget shit...

halfcut itself these days are going for around $2000-$2500.

labour = $1500 then theree engineer certificate, brakes, exhaust, etc

GPC has $6k package, drive in drive away with warranty.

How hard is it to put into an EG??? you have VTi right? you should be able to put the B16a head on the d16y block. someone vouch? im sure it has been done, and is a cheaper alternative to a full swap with your engine :)

timmy, if you dont have a huge budget, go with someting non-vtec like the Si engine. i know i am going on about this a bit right now, but i think for the more limited budget it is a killer choice. ;)

exactly what i was thinking.. coz the Si engine in a breeze dont need certificates and shit rite?

but before that i'll probably wait until this blows.. so ill just service it myself..

all i know is oil change
spark plugs
spark plug wires
change air filter in carby

what else should i do?

good choice, you never know how long it will last lol!!!
change only the necessities. once something major goes, dump it and put in the d16a8 :D. i wouldnt do anything else to the engine as it will not gain anything for you. check maybe fuel filter, obviously oil and filter. possibly spray some carby cleaner in the throat of the carby to clean the gunk off.

thats all though, dont do anything else

good luck mate, and hope to goodness that engine holds for at least a few months for ur sake!!!!!!!
