Was browsing through carsales and happen to my suprise I came across a 05 Euro with a 06 dash

For those people who have been asking if the swap was possible, or not feasible due to the wiring and that a different ECU will be required, this person seems to have done it.

Remember that the 2006 model year was released in 2005. Just as the 2005 model year was released in 2004... and so on.

That right, but the car has an 03-05 front bumper, 03-05 steering wheel and shift knob etc

I agree, this is a strange find and i feel that the cluster has been replaced to a 06 onwards as this 05 euro has very low km's (56,000) and notice that the seller has left the trip meter on the live fuel consumption reader as that would show 0 as the car is on idle anyway.

http://www.carsales.com.au/Tig/UI/PagePopup.aspx?R=8763011&PhotoID=8326654&h_mid=4415219&f_mid=&c_mid=4414491&pid=140973&tabID=304744

I bet if you changed the trip computer to avg fuel, fuel until emtpy ect - There would be some kind of error or a 0 figure.

I've also noticed that in the cluster picture they have left out the top section of the cluster surround where the two screws are located to remove the cluster. I'm sure there would be some evidence of tampering ect that would show in the photo and they have taken a photo to not show this.

I am 99.9% confident that this cluster has been changed. Beware of this car :)

It is a 2005 model. The gearstick is the one from 2003-2005 and the hazard lights button is solid light-red plastic, instead of that translucent deep red one on the 2006.

We just need to get a 2006 cluster, then try it on a 2003-2005 and report back.

I have no doubt that a 06+ cluster will work on a 03-05 euro. How well it works is a different story. :)

yeah but the car itself is definately a pre-face lift model, with a post-face lift dash (regardless of the year)

The fuel consumption meter is the part that I want...

Hmm, to access the fuel consumption meter and all the displays, you need that additional info button that is on the steering of the 2006 onwards. Since the 2003-2005 does not have that button, you can't really switch screens to display more info.

I didn't even think of that! They must of flicked it over to live fuel l/100km and disconnected the steering wheel buttons?
