About 1 year ago I brought my car in for a logbook service at Blacktown Honda service centre, a fairly major one and also enquired about the workshop checking a leak for my windscreen washer.

When I went back I felt like the service was expensive, which I guess is expected, but the worst thing is that they quoted me in the region of $350 to replace the windscreen washing bottle only. I of course said I could live without it and continued to carry a water bottle in the car to wash the windscreen.

After thinking about how dangerous it could get without being able to wash the windscreen of any dirt that could obscure my view when driving I decided to take a look at the problem myself.
I found the issue, it was the tubing from the washing fluid bottle to the nozzles. I went down to Robbo's Spare Parts, replaced the tubing for $1.80 and the leak is now fixed.

This showed that the Honda team did not even take a look at the issue and were willing to charge me a ridiculous amount to fix a minor issue. They will probably defend themselves saying that upon inspection they would have reduced the quote, maybe. But they should have done that at point of service in the first place.

Pretty disgusted with it all. Worst of all I realise that I got charged an amount for windscreen washing fluid they refilled in the car, even though I told them it was leaking

Disgusting.

Hey Raja,

My name is Terence from Trivett Honda Blacktown. Im a apprentice, i know all the guys do a very good job on all the cars they work on in blacktown. Its not just a random general mechanic who 'may' or 'may not' know there cars. Honda mechanic obviously are specialised in Hondas. We have special tools for the specific jobs that need to be worked on. We have to undergo strict Honda Specialised training schools. If you come in for service I'll be happy to come and say hello to ya =).

I service my car at trivette paramata..... so far pretty satisfied. Just did my 50k recently around $150 using my own oil. they detected a puncture and fix it for me, even though I mention I got new tires and the guy mention they dont need to rotate and balance it.

Well Parramatta must be better than Blacktown.

Hi GUys,

I was looking for a Honda dealer for my 1st month or 1000km service for my Euro on weekend. Blacktown got the latest was 17th July(which i booked on 7th June and i asked the opinion about blacktown Honda trivett). I haven't received any opinion those time, contacted Parramatta Trivett Honda they got a time on 10th July Saturday 7.30am. I took it there for the service, i was very satisfied..

As i bougth the car in RIck damelian, took it for 1st service, they just check the normal things. After they completed the service the receiptionist came down with me near the car and open the driver door for me. I was very happy with the service and possibly take my car for the 10k service to Parramatta as well. As i live in Western suburb both Blacktown and parramatta are close..

I never been to Blacktown, so dontk now.. My my opinion is both are owned by Same group Trivett, doesn't that mean both places the service and cost should be equal...

Thanks guys

You would think a Honda dealer would use genuine stuff dont you? I mean, why bother with them if they didnt right?

What's the best Honda Specialist in Sydney, I read this website and they seem pretty good?

I can almost guarantee that a dealership will not use genuine Honda oil. I work for Toyota and we buy Castrol in bulk for our pumps because it is MUCH cheaper than using genuine Toyota oil. Parts are almost always genuine, ie they will use a genuine filter and such becuase it's physical, you can see if it is a different brand.

How do we know they use genuine Honda oil or castrol. Whats wrong with Castrol oil. What oil normally comes when bought a brand new car, ie mine is accord EUro bought as brand new

I'd say genuine oil is used, but I'm not entirely sure on the process of how the car is manufactured and sent here. Nothing is wrong with the Castrol oil. It is well, I describe it as 'blanket oil' which means it can cover a whole lot of cars that use a type of oil. If, say for instance, you bought a car from them (used car in most cases) that required a special type of oil, it is up to them to make sure they put the right oil in.
