LOL I remember being in the same situation,

Practice,

3 Point turn,
Indicating
READING ALL THE SIGNS
Stay on the limit
When revursing in a straight line, make sure physcially look back and don't use the review mirror
Talk to the instructor while driving

Thats all I can think of man, just stay calm :D

Good luck

get some lessons before hand from a professional and you will definately pass.

a mate of mine used to drive around a bit with no license (manual, no p/s, night & day), never had any issues. had his first proffessional lesson 1 day before the test, and it scared the **** out of him. for starters, it was a completely different car, feather light clutch and yeh. he still passed, but have some lessons before hand so that you are more comfortable. that's what the test is all about really, how comfortable you are. if you are calm, you are going to stay under the limit, you won't forget to check your mirrors, you'll indicate appropriately and everything will go fine. if you're not, it makes it a lot harder.

I agree to stay calm. They say 45min but its more like 30min sometimes.
I suggest you get a driving instructor to go through the possible testing routes with you and then practice. Also, it might help if you didn't book a time during the 40km School Zones.

First of all, you need to make sure that all indicators, brake lights etc are in working order. Or you may not able to commend your test due to safety reasons.

- Stay in your lane, or a little bit more on your side so you don't possibly scare the testing officer.
- Constantly MOVE YOUR HEAD to check mirrors, don't just move your eyes because the testing officer won't be able to see it.
- Turn your head for blind spots when necessary.
- Always indicate especially if he or she tells you to pull over (kerb side stop) - I see a lot of Learners forgetting this and just pull over.
- Take your time and don't rush if you have to park or do a 3 point turn. You rather get it right. Screw whoever is on the road waiting.
- Not all testing officers appreciate communication although you can initiate and see what response you get.
- BOTH HANDS ALWAYS ON STEERING WHEEL (unless shifting)
- DO NOT SPEED! (I failed once because of this, by 2-3km) They take this very seriously and it is a straight fail.
- STOP at a stop sign for at least 3sec before the line, even if you can't see anything. Then creep forward to look. (not sure this applies to all states?) This one is a straight fail also if you fail to do this.

Don't freak if you don't get it the first time. Theres always other times and you'll eventually get it :):)

Good Luck!

In NSW the driving test to get your p's is NOT a test of your driving capabilities but more how cautious you are as a driver. Head checks, indicating off roundabouts, sticking to the speed limit, giving way at pedestrian crosses. Head checks are probabvly the most important part though. You have to do a head check every single time you turn the steering wheel in a 3 point turn. I got failed because of a temporary pedestrian crossing in a school zone because apparently the childrens crossing was opperating all day instead of school hours, but there was no indication of this at all, was bullshit. Being in a small town I talked to the girl who did the test after me and she said the same thing happened to her but they still passed her. Probably the most angry I've ever been because I did not lose any points in the entire test.

i also recommend getting a driving instructor, mainly because he will tell you all the things that you should be doing such as (these only apply in nsw)
-checking your mirror and blindspot when turning left before going closer to the kerb
-indicating for at least 5 seconds before leaving a kerb
-head check both directions before doing any movement in a 3 point turn
-when you're first at the light and it turns green, don't go straight away, look left and right for pedestrians and whether any car is running the red light or not
-when changing lanes don't turn off the indicator until your car is completely inside the new lane
-also when changing into the left lane make sure to watch out for people slowing down to turn left
those are probably the ones which i forgot to do the most. everything else has already been mentioned or is common sense.. if you forget to do head checks 3 times or something you fail.

Reverse parallel park is probably the hardest part of the test. Keep your nerves or you'll fail.

If you're in Sydney, DON'T do your P's test at Liverpool RTA. They are F*CKING ANAL ******! That's my advice on choosing the centre.

I did mine at Richmond near the air base. There were rabbits hopping around and planes landing out of no where. The test officer actually got us lost in the bush during the test lol

went for my p's yesterday, an had Barry an he hardly passes anyone,

anyways you should get some driving experience from a driving trainer, i did a day before the test an then a lesson right before the test an passed 100% 1st go:D

Mirrors/Indicate/Shoulder Check is very important, relax an be confident but not over confident also try an not be nervous because its makes the instructor nervous to get in with you, remember not to touch the gutters because you will be marked down for that an listen to the instructor if you dont listen an do something else you will fail instantly.

btw stay about 0-3km under the speed limit dont go 5-10km under or they will mark you down for going to slow.

good luck:thumbsup:

wait P's or getting on log book? What state are you in?

From my brother experience when i sign his Logbook and he now holds Red P

Stay with the speed limit
Do exactly whatever signs ask you to do (STOP, School zone speed limit ....)
Shoulder check whenever changing lanes or do 3 points turn ...
Straight reverse with head turn back not only check side mirrors
As slow as good on paralle reverse
Always indicate signals before turning or change lanes (keep left as possible)
Slow down and careful with round-about, some moron just try to horn at L plate
Get a car from drive learning center, it looks better with it (just a hint)
