Our 91 ED :honda: Civic is in need of some new tires and the current set have done almost 80,000 kms . They were called "Caliente" (185 x 60 x 14), a cheap Bridgestone import (approx $80 to $85 each) and have now been discontinued. We had them before as well and they did approx 72,000 k's before we bought these. So my question is.... can anybody recommend a brand that will wear as long as these ??? They also need to be multi-directional so that I can rotate anyway I want.

Im pretty sure any tire ranging in that price range can last that long. Cos its cheap and usually made out of pretty hard compound rubber. So just ask around and get the best price you can.

What he said - But of course, cheaper tires don't have the same performance and therefore safety. Are you sure you don't want to spend a little bit more money for the added safety?

Bah, for a daily, and at the $80 price point for 14" Tyres then most regular ones will do. I got some sava tyres on my Ed and they been fine, cost about 70ea, 8 mnths use and no wear.
Penny pinching for low end tyres is fruitless, it's not like ultra performane tyres where they can differ by over $200 a tyre ea, ur talking a few bucks overall IMO, just get some entry level brand and be done with it
