Just thought I post this up. I purchased the 3M headlight lens restorer kit for only $30.xx shipped from this seller
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350352670940&viewitem=

This is the cheapest i found compared to others which had ridiculous shipping prices.

This kit is very good, made my lens look like brand new. Good for old hazy scratched Ap1 lights.

I forgot to do a 'BEFORE' photo shoot.

TIME TAKEN: approx 1-2hours (excluding taking on/off bumper which is optional)

INSTRUCTIONS: Just follow the 3M kit instructions. EASY...

TOOLS: - 1000rpm+ drill or rotary sander with 3" adapter. 3M kit comes with the 3" drill adapter.
- masking tape
- spray water bottle

WET SANDED with 500 grit then 800 grit. It will get finer once you do the 3000 grit paper provided in 3m kit

i wouldn't try with rear lights as it has a edged corners i believe? Sanding it may round it off.

You should take out the black plastic in-front of the radiator while you have the bumper off.

I removed mine recently to position the oil cooler up there..... what a stupid design it is..

No point in getting the Greddy one for like 600 bucks? I wonder what the difference is.

is it possible to do this without the 1000rpm+ drill or rotary sander with 3" adapter?

u need it 1000rpm+ to get that perfect smooth cut/sand with the sandpaper provided in the kit.

from experience you can do a good polish without a drill. but be prepared to put in some elbow grease, I have restored gauge clusters by sanding then polishing by hand with a regular autosol metal polish, it works, but takes a long time. Id imagine with glass itd take abit longer, but would still be achievable.

i dunno if id be taking that plastic out from infront of the radiator its there to provide direct and smooth air flow to the radiator even during cornering :S

nice lights man
my mate just pulled his lights off the car, used a heat gun and took the actual plastic off the front lights and sanded both the inside and outside down, then polished em
i have yet 2 c how good its turned out but from what i herd they are pretty good
and his lights were just as foggy and had DIRT trapped inside :S
i removed the black thing off the front so i could fit my mugen CAI
its so annoying
didnt relise i had 2 pull my whole bumper off for 3 clips
can be so time consuming
