94 VTI-R Engine light turns on when hitting 6k revs.

As stated above, i have bought my car almost a month ago and everything was working fine until 2 days ago when i was vtecing the car, the engine light turns on at 6k revs. Vtec is still working though but just dont know why the engine light is turning on?

It'd probably be a good idea to do a scan check (or whatever it's called) on your ECU for fault codes. If you ever get a check engine light, doing this should give you some insight as to what it is or at least what part of the car is causing it. There is an article on how to do this on the DC2, it's really simple, all you need is a paperclip pretty much.
