Hey all. Just a quick question... I want to debadge the "INTEGRA" badge on a DC5 boot (or DC5R in my case). But before i attempt to, i wanna know if it will leave holes that require filling? or is it just held by glue?

Oh btw, i did search but results showed up for everything except DC5R. Thanks for any help!

Theres glue in some cases you say.... so basically:

- Red H badge = holes, need filling
- Integra badge = just glue, no holes

?

Most badges will be double-sided-taped on some will have holes some may not. Just got too pull them off and find out. Generally the smaller badges such as the integra badge won't have holes

Basically this...
my car has had a full respray..
when mine were pull off, there was a shit load of glue... even from the spoiler aswell...
I've heard in some cases it's just double sided tape with no glue..
it depends...

Yes... the H badges will leave holes... will look YUK if not fixed up properly by a panel beater and sprayed IMHO

Just did it about 15 min ago. Lot of glue left, pretty much none on the badge. So I'll go back out after dinner and just give it a good spray with prepsol and try get it off.

How did you go?

Can this prepsol stuff be bought from supercheap, autobarn etc ?

Yeah can get it from any of those stores. Looks fine now. :) Very small chip or something from the badge but after a bit of buffing it's gone.

Easiest way to debadge is to heat up the badge(s) with hairdryer/glue gun (heaps!) then use a fishing line in a slicing motion up and down (if the badge is horizontal) and it should easily lift right off.
The use a bit of metho to rub the excess glue off.
I've heard a few things about metho, mainly not to leave it on the car so on so afterwards I'd wipe the metho straight away and also wash the area & apply abit of wax.
And yes I've done this myself.

And as others have said, the "Integra" badge is held on with glue, so no holes afterwards.

I heated it up and tried metho but it didn't seem to do much, when I used the wax and grease remover came off like a charm. Maybe I just wasn't doing it right but I would've thought they should give similar results. (Prepsol is meant to be a bit nicer on your paint though but never good to leave anything of that nature on your car anyway.)

Yea metho took about 5 minutes to get the gluey residue off.
Didn't have any prepsol lying around so went with metho.

Anyone removed the "TYPE R" badge from the rear of their DC5R? Does it leave holes?

I'm wanting to get rid of this next, car looks cleaner imo hehe

It's just double sided tape.
