i have an eg4 civic breeze (carb) was wondering what list of things i should do when servcing my honda.
All i can think of so far is:
change the oil
change coolant
change spark plugs
change plug wires
change the air filter
change the oil filter
anything else?
please add sum to the list :D
cheers

fuel filter too maybe
u should do ur oil/filter and then anything else that needs doing.
replace ur other filters at intervals (or when they are causing problems). no need to change anything else unless its not doing its job. plugs can be left in for 30k+ depending on type/performance u are after. just make sure everything is nice and safe - which includes all the systems in ur car :)

As above, check and change the fuel filter too.
I'd actually recommend changing the tranny fluid too.

This is sort of getting a little off topic. But I've been wondering what differences there are in spark plugs. I've seen the threads about what plugs people use. Can anyone explain how a more expensive plug gives better performance? Is it a more reliable spark? thanks

different materials can give a better spark even under higher compression and heat. You can get colder rating plugs if your car has greater heat issues, i.e a large amount of boost.
Patinum ones are for longer lasting apparently 100k
Iridium ones are for longer lasting & performance 60k-80k?(not too sure can't rem)
Copper standard, good for your odd 30k or so but performance deteriorates quicker, but they are cheaper.(i usually change these every 10k, but that's just me)

About tranny fluid, me and my mate's civic has a common problem when shifting gears. When reversing, we both have this chrunchy sound when we put into reverse. Sometimes the gears are hard to shift, are they related to tranny fluid?

Do a search ! :)
Reverse doesn't have synchros, so just make sure you are stationary, then put into 4th, then go into reverse. Won't crunch after that.

well i ...work at honda!!! and well about the spark plugs iridiums adn platnum are the same thing!!! but the standard ones are recmmended to be changed every 20,000 km! and platnum/iridiums every 100,000km!!! but with the spark plugs u get what u pay for in terms of durabilty but interms of quality not muh differeence!!!1 but back to service. do u oil and filter every 5000km, but u every get away with oil every 5000 and filter every 10,000. but ur air filter and fuel filter and tranny fluid every 40,000km but if u have a pod i reckon u have to chagne sooner only if it's not still in the stock box if it's in ya front bar i'd change ti heaps more often. and coolant unsure. but i just flushed mine!!! i think it lasts about 5 years. so thats at least 40,000km's!!! pretty sure it's 40,000! but with my oil i changed every 2000 - 3000km. 5000 at the absoluter most becos i get free oils!!!! if u guys every want a service or clutch change flywheel or any kind of mechanical work just PM me and i'll see what i can do i just did a clutcha flywheel 2 weekdna goa nd a full service this week all fluids plus pad!!! for only $300. and all the parts plus oils costed $260!
