wats ur opinion on 93 EG gli and gl motors...

i know they got around the same power output (bout 74kw) and the gl is a carby but is there a BIG disadvantage being a carby...

michelle, my friend wants to buy a civic but the gli is priced more... is it worth forking out the extra grand for the gli... both have around same km and are in the same condition...

i told her to get an ek vtir (its black and just down the road)... but noooooo she wants an EG :shock: but wheres the love for the vtec, i tell u, whereeeeee...

YAY! EG Love :)

I heard that the GL goes harder than the GLi...but yeah I can't confirm that. Sorry!

I've got a GL and it goes alright for what it is :)
I expect the GLi would be a bit quicker, but not by heaps.
They should be the same weight as the breeze was the one that was lighter I think. Because of no power options etc.

really danny... do breezes go ok for wat they are... like i know that they are only 1.3lt and the gl is a 1.5lt... so its a much smaller engine... like 20kw difference as well...

i guess shes not gona get any decent power without a vtec but somehow i dont think that is a concern for her :x

hey danny... u do any mods to ur motor, like simple ones... wat can u do to a 1.3lt carby engine to make it go a bit better...

breeze would be hell light though :P

well i got ,2 1/4 exhasut (pipe) filter , and spark plugs and stuff...

bit of gains but lacks the guts of a 1.6 vtec

NOT THAT MUCH....

get the GLi.. then you can simply whack a $40 K&N copy pod filter on and get 10% more juice.. and more noise.. the carby set-up is a LOT harder and more exp to modify.

I have SOHC VTEC 1.6L and have driven a GLi that was waaay faster than me and I am running 15.6"

i'd spend the extra cash and go the GLi which i feel is a better platform to work on and would be easier to do an engine conversion later because it's already EFI

VTi SOHC VTEC at the least or the Si EG

Both have more in the way of fittings than the Breeze, GL and GLi and more power to start off with.

Breeze = 1.3
GLi = 1.5

These days I would be telling her to get Vtec. For the extra $2000 it's worth it.
