try honda Australia. As they were not brought in the country you might find it hard to find one. Why not get an ITR one instead?

Stock ITR muffler a rare to find as must itr drivers keep their stocks. As for Ek9 is even rarer as theres hardly any of them around. As Limbo said your best guess is honda australia.

EK9 mufflers are super rare. your looking at 400+ from an overseas suplyer. ITR are a little better at 280. you may get lucky and find someone that wants to get rid of there ITR muffler cheeper than that.

Havn't heard much about the ek9 muffler's flow properties.

If you want a good flowing oem muffler, see if an s2000 muffler will fit.

If you are speaking regarding the muffler itself alphabeats, the ITR will weld onto whatever exhaust piping you are currently running, be it stock or aftermarket.

I have an ITR muffler on my DC atm, OEM and fully stainless. Willing to let it go for the right price. :) Take to PM if interested.

yea if u chop n weld then u spoil the perfect smoothness of the piping, don't u understand?

Andrew, i think the question remains unanswered. Regardless of piping sizes and lengths etc, is the CTR muffler the same as the ITR one ?

Also how different is the EK4 muffler over the EK9 muffler ?

the cannister is diff size
the piping from the bpipe is diff length
the tip is diff length

Andrew you are missing the question again mate !

yyehyeh we wanna know are they basically the same exhaust with different length piping???

Well i'm actually getting a ITR exhaust anyway.. i thought it should have better flow properties as it is designed for the larger capacity 1.8ltr, and i got my hands on one cheap from a wrecker... ;)

Whats so good about the ITR muffler? if youve been to a few of the dyno days you would have noticed that the ITRs with stock exhaust systems seem to make the same power if not slightly more than most ITRs with aftermarket exhaust systems.
The ITR factory exhaust is actually 2.25" mandrel bent and that includes a 2.25" inlet on the muffler which is perfect for a sleeper style exhaust system on the ek4's and dc2's.

That's incorrect AFAIK.

Also, you might want to consider more than the muffler when comparing stock dc2r exhaust SYSTEMS to aftermarket examples. Perhaps workmanship/design, quality, size specs and readout goals might have a larger part to play than the muffler itself....?

oright oright man...so is the ITR any good on the EK4?

i mean considering the size and other factors...
also if it's possible to get the CTR mufflers.

ITR isn't going to fit on the EK4 if i recall right. You have to get it altered to fit. The ITR zorst system was a great for a stockie. Very good indeed.

CTR muffler is not the same as the ITR muffler

Also how different is the EK4 muffler over the EK9 muffler ?
ek4 is oval shaped, the ek9 is cylindrical shaped, what make them different is the flow, and it obvious that the ek9 flows better and thus the need of an additonal but smaller resonator in the b-pipe to restrict to and conform to the emission standard (noise + exhaust output).
