View Full Version : D-tech heads - A6 cam in the Y4 head?!

After looking at this page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_engine) (near the bottom under SOHC ZC) & also this page (http://www.d-series.org/forums/engine-building/45263-d16a6-d16y4-question-helpppp.html), it got me thinking, could i swap an A6 cam in the Y4 head. I cannot seem to find Y4 cam specs anywhere, so i could compare the 2. Alot of the yanks use the A6 cam as a low-budget upgrade, so im wondering if i can do the same thing. Only problem is, there's no A6's in OZ, & if by some chance it doesnt fit then im outta pocket quite a bit from the massive shipping cost of a camshaft from yankland....

I think The Saint did something like this, can't remember if he used Z6 or A6 though. Check out his build thread in the Build section.

D16Z2 is the same motor as the D16A6 meaning that you will be able to find a cam here in Aus.

great, so does anyone have cam specs for the D16Y4?!
