im currently researching atm on what ecu to use on a boosted D16....
i havent had much exp when it come to honda ecu's, so bare with me

From what i gather Greddy ecu is only a piggy back, which is perfectly fine, as at most i'd want around 140-180kw max....

Now there are other Ecu on the market, such as Hondata, Neptune, Uni chip etc... can anyone else give me more info about the other options?

Im not looking at a full blown Ecu replacement, but more so, something that will do the job a reasonable price for what its worth....

Your probably better off with Hondata because i know for a fact alot of tuners use hondata, so its a well known tuning solution for honda here in australia.

Hondata S100 should to the trick.
Its the cheapest alternative and offers best performance, reliability and functionality.
I tried EMS, Haltech and eventually settle happily with a Hondata S200.

does the s100 even support boost?

edit; looks like it does (http://www.hondata.com/s100.html)

that said, find a tuner first and see what they recommend
no point getting an ecu that your tuner isn't comfortable with

I wouldnt suggest doing that as the tuner would most likely offer you an ECU they prefer as they
are able to make more money on the tune and installation. This doesnt necessarily mean that the
ECU they will recommend is suitable or desirable.
Hondata is a proven platform to use and is great for a daily driven vehicle which is what mugen_ctr wants.

cool guys, but isnt the hondata s100 merely a chip? once you do it, theres no turning back?

Hondata S300/Neptune NPT ** are usb cable.

Yeap s100/s200 are chipped. More hassle if you want to change anything with the tune as the chip will need to be re-burn.

Arent some Neptune's basically the same thing as s100/s200? chip needs to be reburn for every tune?
