I have an Accord Euro Nav (10) and am looking at getting the ipod interface but someone told me that the song title artist etc doesnt show up on the sat nav screen? is this true , i did a search on here and couldnt find any info. I find it hard to believe , i was in a mates XR6 on the weekend and it shows up the track, artist and album on the screen...

and, you cannot shuffle the songs in the specific folders which I find very annoying. I end up using the Aux line for my iPod more these days... :(

Thats pretty poor by Honda, even Hyundai can manage to get all the info from an ipod up on the display... surely its just a simple software thing...

Apparently the US version works fine. Was just Honda Australia skimping on costs.

I just recently bought the Euro Lux (no sat nav) and had the iPod option fitted (was about $500). Had I realized how poorly it integrates, I wouldn't have bothered; it's a real compromise to an otherwise excellent stock headunit.

From what I have seen so far, there's no title display and it's not clear how it works with playlists etc.

Pressing the folder +/- buttons appears to simply choose random tracks rather than skip to the next playlist as you'd expect (or am I doing something wrong?).

Im using an iPhone as my player and had to download a hack to get the iPhone to display the track on the phone while plugged in to the adapter, otherwise it would just show a splash screen.

Also, I haven't figured this out - is there a way to pause playback with an iPod/iPhone plugged in?

I'm starting to think a $5 aux cable will be more useful than the iPod integration...

i have also wasted the money on installing the ipod intergration too with my CU2. I fully agree that Honda should have done better.
One thing I did learn was that you can create folders in your ipod starting with 'Honda1' 'Honda2' etc and that will allow you to choose btw those folders when plugged in the car (shows up as folder 1 or 2). Hope this helps!

I have just ordered my Euro Lux (Sat Nav) on Wednesday and was quoted $495 for the ipod option. Please pardon my ignorance but what is this $5 auxillary cable that can be used instead? Where does it connect into and where can I buy it from?

I had a look on Xcarlink but it has no products for sale for Honda in Australia.

I've got a CU2 Euro Lux. I just use the $5 male to male 3.5mm cable. It plugs directly into the jack located in the storage space underneath the middle front armrest. The benefit of using one of these cables is you can plug other music players in, not just iPods. I personally use my BlackBerry as a media player.

I don't think the extra $500 is worth spending for full iPod integration, given that it is the cost of a new delux iPod.

Here's a cheap alternative to the $500 iPod option from the dealers. As suggested you require a 3.5mm male to male cable. This allows you to connect most media devices!

Get from here: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5115 (cheapest I could find so far)

Optional:
For an extra $2 you can even charge your iPod/iPhone at the same time (please double check and confirm it works with your iPod/iPhone)

Get from here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CAR-CHARGER-ADAPTER-IPHONE-3G-3GS-IPOD-TOUCH-2-3ND-/180500620870?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item2a06ace646

So for roughly $5 you can play music off your iPod/iPhone and charge it at the same time too! I've been using this set up for a couple of months now and see no adverse effects yet.

Only con would be you cannot adjust the music with the car's controls and you have to manually change it on the iPod/iPhone. Doesn't really bother me as I just create a playlist before I go.

Yeah, I have a 2010 Accord VTI-L. I use my iPhone; and it works terribly! It crashes frequently and since updating to iOS4, it doesn't recognise my (Honda1, Honda2, etc) playlists. Very disappointing that it seems like no one at Honda cares about their customers enough to allow this. And this is after I specifically rang and asked the dealership if this works with the iPhone before I bought this feature. :(

Knowing a little bit about how the iPhone works, it looks like they're using programming standards from really early Apple releases. I think they should upgrade this, I think it is a warranty issue!

Hi Chunsa, Thanks for your advice - it is very helpful - just what I was after. I'm glad I didn't buy the $500 ipod option now.

from what i've heard, the iPod Connection option is a complete waste of money,
I have a 2010 Base Model CU2 Euro and it has none of those connections except a AUX port in the Centre Compartment,
for $1.50 i bought a simple male to male 3.5mm Jack AUX Cable, plug it into my iPod headphone port, and the Sound Quality is equivalent, or sometimes even BETTER than CD Sound Quality,
but then again it all depends on the bitrate of the song, 128, etc.
But for those who are considering getting this iPod connection option, PLEASE DON'T.

If you can prove that you made it clear to the dealer that you required full iPhone integration before you bought the car then under the Trade Practices Act, you may be entitled to exercise your statutory right to a refund on the car (but you may have to hand the car back). A partial refund is also possible: This could be useful if you've paid $500 for iPod integration but it does not fulfil what you were led to believe. You could have the "integration" removed and have your money refunded.
