Hi,
When im in park and put the car into either R or D it will go clunk before it goes into gear... Like the transmission is engaging the correct gear.
The car is basically new.
With all my other cars it goes into gear fine... no clunks just straight in and off you go. feels like a delay before i start driving.
Anyone notice this?
Thanks

With earlier honda's a common problem. Drive shaft/final drive freeplay. You can double check and simulate this problem by jacking up one front side and turning/jerking the tyres while it is on "P" you should hear the exact sound.

Would this be an issue in the future? Can this be rectified / covered under warranty?

It happens, quite common on Honda auto transmissions. Happens on the Euro, happened in the 2004 Accord and is happening to your new V6. Search the Accord section for "clunk".

Ditto on 4cyl 09 VTIL. One of the newspaper road testers mentioned it on test too.

Haven't had a drama even with 3x the intended power output.

It's happened to all Honda's I've owned. I think a little normal? Not sure about yours though considering its new n all.
When it clunks into gear, does it jerk a bit too?
