Hey guys.
can anyone tell me what is the reason that toda made these?

I got this quote from RHD Japan web site.
The TODA RACING VTC Valve Plug K20A allow to remove the VTC solenoid from the K20A engine, removing the problem of cam timing troubles when installing aftermarket Cams.

Can someone elaborate as to what problems there are with aftermarket cams

thanks

You know, it'd probably be easier to just use your telephone than rely on advice from ignorant arse clowns.:p

Anyway, the products pictured are used remove the VTC actuator & replace it with an adjustable sprocket that is set during assemby.
So you are aware, there aren't actually any cam timing troubles with stock or aftermarket cams.
The problems people encounter is knowing when to stop...
This is where engeneering know how & experience is pay-dirt

Now, to be frank, the parts you are looking at are quite useful if you're in a racing class where VTC is banned.
They were originally developed for N+ racing where Vtec & VTC is banned.
With this in mind, if you're not restricted by class regulation, you aught to just mark them down as curiosity pieces.
Retaining the OEM VTC actualion will deliver superior results when combined with an aftermarket ECU that has correct VTC control (Haltech Platinum Pro or Hondata K-Pro) & good tuning.
That said, the adjustable exhaust cam sprocket is however quite useful, but only if it has a dynamic damper built in to stop chain rattle.
