well a friend of mine bought some from ebay, the fronts fitted fine, but the rears where to short, so it kept bottoming out, dangerous! i guess he got unlucky... King springs, cause there made for that particular car, an unlike coil sleeve, which most of the time is a universal fitment, but i cant say coil sleeves are bad cause i havent exp them, so cant say any neg bout em...

They're mostly cheaply made from China/Taiwan with unknown quality steel with mystery springrates

The ones Ive seen have always been very hard rates and using those with stock struts with create a horrible bouncy dangerous ride as youre effectively riding on the springs

GC sleeves are the best on the market.. think from memory the spring is actaully Eibach...
team it up with Konis and they will outlast and perform better than 99% of the coilovers on the market

if your on a budget & think the GC coil sleeves are outta the question, & since the car is only a DD, i would look at eibach's sportline springs. They provide a nice drop & their spring rates are very well balanced between comfort & handling....

it's a kit so you get both the springs and sleeves(i went with custom spring rates)
need some shocks on top of that too

shocks are serviceable in australia
customer spring rates
ability to re-valve shocks to match springs

koni's are good. had them on my DC2 for over a decade and still good (bro now drives the car).
GC's has lots of good reviews. you'll see more about them on US forums.

as with the ebay sleeves, this is what i have heard which have made me stay away from them. however, i haven't experienced it for myself though.
They are standard springs for use on all cars (eg. they are not made for any specific model).
The height adjusters are made from soft metal and can seize. So, you better get the height right first time round.
Third, the springs sag.. so even if you get the right height.. they'll be wrong lower a while anyway.
