Hi All,

Now I'm not the most up to date with what parts should cost - basically, my clutch is slipping on my 92 lude, and it needs a new one.

The mechanic came back and said that to replace it, there are 2 types of clutches available. One is 350ish (so about 600 with labour), the other is 850 ish ($1k+ with labour), and the VIN will dictate which one I need.

So my question - am I being shafted?? From what I have read here, clutches are 350 ish, or 4-500 for an Exedy heavy duty. What is this 850 clutch he would be talking about??

Cheers!!!

Ok - got the phone call back from the mechanic - quoted 800ish for new clutch, labour, fluids etc, and rehoning of the flywheel.

Is this in the ballpark?

Cheers!

Tight ass !!!
If you think you are getting shafted, do the job yourself !!!
Don't complain if you have to pay someone to do the work for you
