See the thread here (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?127021-cl9-door-check-straps-worn-0.o-quot) :)

Mine did this when I picked it up after buying it (although funnily enough it was fine before I got it, I think the detailers kindly 'cleaned' the grease off the check straps).

Bought a stick of dry lube from Supercheap for $1.99, rubbed it on the straps, and now it's as good as new. The dealer in the other thread charging $200 to fix it is ridiculous.

Try WD-40 works on everything. It did an okay job for me... still didn't fully get rid of the squeak though.

WD-40 is NOT a lubricant. It is a water dispersant and is very good grease dissolver. Do not use WD-40.

Use either spray on teflon grease (after cleaning the old grease off), or use paste lithium grease.
