yea its a relatively straight swap.. the engine is out of prelude models and sports a twin cam head rather then the sohc of the f22b.. you can get jdm half cuts for around 2000-2500 comes with the gearbox and the lot.. you can do the conversion yourself if you have a little bit of auto knowledge and the h22a swap guide.. best value for money performance upgrade for an accord imo..

like poid says, there is no reson why the F22 wont go into the 400 000 with out probs. 200 000 is nuthing to a f22 engine with decent service history. you will be waiting a long time

You should chuck a 2.0l vtec blue top engine from JustJap if you are in Sydney. How original would that be! Very Rare but they got one or at least had one when I was last there. They have the whole front cut, Be different and straight bolt in, also get all the top of the range goodies. I think it is a Type S accord.

The F20 is a harder swap than the H22A. Apparently the dizzy/ignition pack needs modifying, the intake manifold needs modifying, and the mount where the cambelt is needs modyfying, and I'm not sure if you will have any problems with the ECU. (This info is from another forum member in NZ). Those aret he major ones.

Plus the engine will be hella expensive in OZ.

The engine comes out of the JDM 6th gen Accord SiR (auto) and the Sir-T (manual).

But yeah it's a good engine. As for the F22 - keep up with maintanence and that engine will last a long time.

I still have the f22 in my accord, as mentioned before regular service and maintaining of the f22 will give you good service and last a long time, i was under the same impression a while back that the k's were getting high the engine will need replacing, as mentioned this is not true, but one hell of a excuse to do the h22 swap!!!!

im currently sitting on 209.000 in my 95 it starts frist time and runs a like a charm couldnt be happer actually.

2000-2500 for the engine etc is right, depending on where you go and and if they know what they are doing depends on additonal cost for installing

Alright alright good to see yous are full of crazy engine ideas :p good for me that the engine has still got plenty left cause i aint exactly in a position to start forking out stacks of cash for a new engine but i'm liking the h22a engine i think this may be my next mod in perhaps 6 months or so cheers all very helpful, much appreciated

pm sent. dont skimp on a 2000-2500 front cut. spend the extra and you will get a cracker of a front cut with all the goodies expect to pay an absoloute minimum of 3k on a h22a front cut. Just remember you always get what you pay for. whats an extra $1000 when u do the conversion? do it once, do it properly.

conversion cost me around 4k all up, the only work i contracted out was to pirtek for a power steering hose mod and an exhaust shop for an exhaust mod.

become friend with a mechanic and use his hoist, air tools and engine crane and also befriend an auto electrician or very experienced installer for the wiring mods otherwise expect to pay $3000+ extra in totoal labour costs.

Maybe this (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10844) might help a little bit YBQ13T ;)

h22a accord..
what what would you get for the extra?? are the few extras are you talking about like extractors ect??
personally i would steer clear of modified half cuts as they have more of a chance that they were thrashed when they were complete.. im not saying this is always the case but from personal experiences it appears that way..
id rather buy a low k std half cut and modify it the way you want it from there.. then you know exactly what mods have been done and that they have been done right..

isnt blue top engine the H23A engine? rare as 2.3L DOHC Vtec engine?

blue top is H23vtec, h23A is out of the 4th gen prelude Si

As for 4G63 conversion, would be better just to rebuild the F22 and turbo it with that kind of money!

Im not talking about mods. The front cut i bought was totally stock down to the airbox. I am talking about factory goodies and a guarantee of an engine in great condition........for the extra you would get a hand picked front cut, compression tested, low km, timing belt replaced as precaution, factory LSD, 3 month warranty "PEACE OF MIND!!!" All sensors and wiring in working condition...i have heard of front cuts missing the JDM ecu's plus certain sensors etc that you then have to spend alot of money replacing.

I also scored with my cut a factory leather gear knob and steering wheel, climate control, prelude shifter ( which feels waaay better than accord shifter ) i sold off the prelude brakes plus more parts to mates. All the parts i needed in the front cut were there and in perfect condition.

The jdm speedo with digital odometer had 60860km on it so thats pretty low km i think. its in someone elses AUDM prelude now hehehe.

isnt there 2 versions of the h22a? i remember reading about the earlier design having some sort of cooling problem(?) which the 2nd design had fixed. this was years ago so dont quote me on it.
my old mans accord has gone over 230xxxkm's, i'm patiently waiting for the day the motor dies :D
