Hi guys, so I got my Skunk2 exhaust fitted a few weeks ago and the drone effect is getting to me since it came with no mid muffler!

So.. I’m now after a mid muffler which will hopefully decrease the db significantly. Can any mid muffler be retro fitted to the exhaust? And approximately how much would it cost and how long would it normally take?

Cheers

haha i was driving by 2 cops yesterday and had to maintain 1500rpm (the quiet sweet zone) to not drone.. in the last 2 months I'm sure u got used to the sound :P

oh and the music helps reduce drone but on uphill, the skunk2 is unbearable!!

Yep you can easily fit a mid muffler at most exhaust shops. You can also consider getting 2 x hotdog resonators. It will probably cost you around $400 all up including labour. It usually takes about 1-2 hours to weld and fit.

Also keep in the mind that the exhaust will drone less over time as carbon starts coating the tubing internally. My custom exhaust used to be very boomy and now it sounds almost like stock when cruising.

Wouldn't adding 2 hot dogs and a mid muffler cause it to loose performance as it would restrict it more. I reckon just add one mid muffle and it should be ok. There are a few places out there that will charge $150 including labour to fit it. Make sure the muffler is the same diameter as the rest of the exhaust.

It's a cut and weld job. Should be easy as. Just make sure they use a straight thru resonator nor one with different compartments like a maze.

not at heeltoe I believe

You can't order it at heeltoe at the moment.

Ps: whats the deal with skunk2? I wonder why it's so popular.

Had silencer on for the last couple of months - not bad at all..

Sometimes I feel like taking the silencer off and then I think to myself.. is it worth getting a defect notice over? And I leave it on haha...

Great my battery died :( :(

Only 1 yr old Supercharge Gold.. Piece of SH!TTT... 2nd faulty Supercharge... Won't even jump start.
