after ripping my box apart and replacing my input shaft bearings when i close the box back it the input shaft is really firm to move by hand, not easy like it should be. it will rotate just takes lots of force. when we take the box apart it moves freely easy.

Also note that upon re installation the top 5 or so components of the input shaft fell off, i put them back on in the order that fits perfect and lines up with the counter shaft fine.

what could cause the input shaft to be firm only when the box is closed? any advise will be awesome because i desperately want it finished tomorrow.

Cheers all

Possibly the input shaft is very slightly floating up (0.01mm etc) did u make sure the circlip at the top of the casing is properly sitting in the top bearing groove ?

Most likely something is binding. Make sure the circlip is sitting on the top bearing. Does the case close completely?
