Hi All,

Just put down a deposit on an S2K. If all goes well, I should be able to pick it up on Monday. I will take some pics when I get it and upload to the site.

The car is from a Honda Dealer so I didn't bother getting RACV or any other independant companies to do a pre-inspection. I hope this is okay ? There is no warranty or anything that comes with the car.

In the meantime, I want to thank everyone who has given me advice and also answered my questions in my quest of finding an S2K.

If it's from a dealer, then there should be some sort of statutory warrany, but.. that can vary from place to place. The biggest thing is that when it's coming from a Honda dealer, it should be about as good as it gets. Note that I do say "should"... When I got mine there was only one available from a dealer up here in QLD, and that one was good, but was about $10K more then any of the private ones in the same condition, and even they were asking to much. I ended up flying to Sydney to get mine, and driving it back. saved me a lot of money, and I got what I consider to be a great deal.

All in all, it comes down to what you get in any other car purchase. Do you think you got the right car at the right price? If you can answer "yes", then you've done good. And come on, with an S2000... it's hard to go past them. I know that in the 6 months I've had mine, I've become unable to drive another car (braking to late, conering way to hard...).

What year was your S2K Lewd ? I didn't realise they could do something like that for an older s2k.

Mine is a 2005 model. Which dealer are you buying it from?

Hey mate, I picked up the car today and I had to drop it back an hour later coz there was some sort of tapping sound from the engine bay. Chain tensioner or the valve clearance needs to be adjusted. I hope its that. They are gonna fix it so hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow. The car has some minor panel repairs on the driver side front and rear guard. Front had a bump on the bumper / guard. There was a gap between the headlights and the bumper but they just readjusted it. Rear was probaly scratches or a trolley dint but its fixed. There are stone chips here and there but its been touched up. The generaly condition of the car was pretty good. They gave me some crappy new front tyres and new pads and machined the rotors. The original tyres are the Yokohama Advan Neova tyres which had maybe 60% which I told them I want to take home lol.

The car is okay... The freaking cruise control doesnt work though and they wont fix it coz they said it is aftermarket. Anyway I managed to squeeze 1 year warranty instead of the 3 they offered. On the overall I am pretty happy with the car except for the fact that I don't have it now and probaly won't get it till weekends. No Mp3 on the stacker meant I had to listen to radio all the way home.

wOW... I HOPE thats a HONDA Warranty not a aftermarket warranty like i got shafted into by the Honda Dealership i used (Won't shame them)......
They always say some bullshit like that when they come to fixing stuff man... hope your S2K goes good for ya :)
I picked up my ITR (DC5) from a Honda Dealership and have had good runs (got a 3 yr warranty through ADI Sigh....)
Only major issue with mine is my Starter Motor other than that, shes running pretty sweet :)

I had a look at the Honda website and they said their approved used cars undergo a 100 point check or something but when I asked for the report from this joint, they said they do not participate in the program as they don't sell enough used cars. There are also Honda dealers that offer 3 year Honda warranty if the car is less than 10 years old. I am still a little pissed how the Stateroads guy did not even pick up on the tapping sound from the engine bay. It's pretty loud but goes off after a while. Mine was the 3 months 5,000 kms statutory warranty which I extended to 1 year and 15,000 kms. I live like 40 kms away from the place so thats 80 kms gone lol. I think you should name the Honda dealer you bought from since it is useful information for other buyers.

I tried to get the front lip for free in replacement for the cruise control but they didnt have any in stock so I thought I would just go with warranty.

For sure mate. Here are 2 pics I took. The car has AP1 Version 1 rims for some reason. The 99-01 ones. I wonder what happened. I don't see many people changing to the older model rims.

why do you say the rims have been changed? this looks like an AP1 to me (from the bumpers and lights, at least). I take it this is an '02/03?

the 02 and 03 are still "AP1" (even though technically all AUDM cars are AP1s, we didn't get no F22C) but they added updates like the glass window roof, chrome circles around the taillights, clear sidemarkers, other cosmetics etc. The "AP2s" began in '04 with the 17" wheels, updated front/rear bars/lights etc. etc. the FAQ has the full details.

anyway, nice car! that interior is sexy as. we need a melb s2000 meet, bad.

Lol thanks. This is an 03 model. The rims are actually different. The 99-01 AP1 rims, the spokes end at the edge of the rim where it meets the tyres. The 02-03 AP1 rims, the spokes end on the inner edge of the rim. They are also polished.

There is a pic of how an 02-03 rim on this ad. I am thinking he probaly mount a kerb or got hit on the wheel. It was probaly damaged or buckled and he went out to buy a whole set of the older s2k rims.

It used to have a set of horrible 18's on it prior.....

Hows the audio system?

(if its the car I'm thinking of - MCB + tan is very very rare, only about 10 around, and only a few are 03's).

dciisir

The audio on the car is completely stock. I am putting up with Radio for the time being. What did you mean it had 18's before ? Anyway, few more pics of my wife and mistress. I've always wanted to own a turbo and vtec at the same time but I will probaly end up selling one of them in the future.
