hi everyone, im thinking of replacing my headlight globes, park globes and possibly my highbeam globes to something a bit brighter. would like something that is more white than yellowly like stock globes, but dont want bluey colour like stupid hid's. im guessing the globes will have to be the same style as stock. and i got nfi what the wattage would be for them.
whats your suggestions and ideas? prices would be handy to.
i also got a blown number plate light, what sorta globes do these use?
car is a perfacelight 94 integra

Heard great things with Philips X-treme Power and Vision Plus. If you google or search around on OzHonda, there are a couple of posts regarding these bulbs with some pictures, external links and members reviews.
I don't think these will be as white as you'd like as they're still a bit yellow but definitely whiter and brighter with better light output than stock. (debatable)
The bulbs with a white light will have a blue tint around the bulb, the light output for these are terrible (from previous experience) I could hardly see in the rain. And considering that it's winter right now, I would put that into consideration.
For high beams, I'm not really sure as I haven't changed my high beams. But parkers, I've replaced mine with white LEDs which was a T10 bulb.
You can get replacement bulbs at autobarn, supercheap and repco but I am unsure of the prices. But I can suggest www.powerbulbs.com. The prices are cheaper and will include free parkers. Other members from OzHonda have bought from this website.
For the number plate light, I say T10 also.

I got some new ones recently Lukey, I'll check what they are cos I can't remember.
They aren't completely white but definitely whiter than stock.
I'd say you're just looking for H4's.

Look into Phillips Diamond Vision bulbs, Lukey. They are rated at 5000k and emit a nice bright white (yes it IS white, no yellow at all). They are quite expensive if you buy from, for example Autobarn, who sell them for over $100(!!). Instead, search ebay and you'll see they cost around $50-$60...

Price might sound a lot but they are worth it. Simple plug and play, no modifications needed. Hope that helps =)
I have these on my DC5R
Oh and dont be put off if the ads say "blue". The only thing blue about Diamond Visions is that the bulb itself is coloured blue, thats all. The actual light emitted will be white.

Does the prefacelift have projector lenses?
Go for 4300k-5000k HID's, no 55W bulb will beat a 35W HID kit running at 35W. http://www.my-gti.com/wp-content/uploads/retrofit_hid_comparision_chart.jpg
I have 6000's in mine, and they appear to be quite grey looking from inside - when it's rainy it looks like you can't see anything.. i think your eyesneed the contrast to help distinguish shapes properly, which is prob. why manufacturers use the slightly yellower 4300-5000k for BMW's/audis
KZ trading sells T10 parkers (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?132883-HIGH-QUALITY-LEDS-Parkers-plates-dome-map-boot-reverse) and Kaixen HID's (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?132881-KaiXen-HID-Xenon-Kits-235-QUALITY-amp-RELIABILITY.)
don't use HID's for highbeams, because it'll take ages to charge up, which defeats the purpost of HB's. Just use those fancy 'white' halogen globes, or pure yellow to be more JDM

LED parkers are ghey, if they are not matched with the appropriate coloured bulb.
You know that the whiter they are, the harder it is to see at night.
Anyway, I had mtec 4350K 100w bulbs, and they were ok and seemed quite robust, as in they did not blow for the time i had them.
I'm now using stock colour phillips 30+ and they are great.. when these go, i'm going for phillips 50+. another reason for back to stock is to avoid cop trouble.
and dont forget about our date this coming wed lukey.
